Best Fish

5lb 8oz  Derek Benamore, Finedon, wet daddy

5lb 8oz  Roly Stanford, Finedon, olive buzzer, boat

5lb 3oz  Barry Cowland, Peterborough, red diawl bach, boat

+ 8 other fish over 4lb

Best Areas

Bank - east arm, boat bay

Boat - pylon point, east arm, brookside bay

Best Patterns

Damsel nymph, adult damsel, dry or wet daddy, black hopper, red diawl, small black buzzer, biscuit booby

Fishing was difficult early last week but as the water temperature dropped the catches were better from Friday onwards.

Fish continue to take damsels during the day with very little else hatching. Some fish taking corixa in shallow water.

A reasonable buzzer hatch in the evening has seen fish moving in many areas of the lake whereas during the day the fish are more localised.

The continued unsettled weather will help to keep the fishing reasonable.
