The huge fish must have been growing in Chew for a number of year to reach the weight.

A fish thought to be the biggest grown-on brown trout ever landed in the UK has been caught from Chew Valley.
The massive specimen weighed in at a staggering 22lb 7oz and was caught by Kent angler Justin Harrison as he targeted pike from the big reservoir’s north shore.
Falling for a deadbait, Justin first of all thought he’d hooked into a big pike before it surfaced after a series of long powerful runs – much to his amazement.
“This must be one of the largest grown on brown trout in the country, I can’t remember hearing of a bigger one,” said Chew’s Bob Handford. “We stock our fish at no bigger than 2 or 3lb, so this fish must have been in there for some time.
“I’m happy to say that the fish was nursed in the water before swimming away strongly,” added Bob.
