REVIEWS
Judging by the fantastic amount of pockets you get with this fly vest it is definitely one for the roving angler who prefers to have everything to hand, rather than have to rummage around in a bag for the items he/she wants to find quickly. The vest is also lightweight, and made from a breathable fabric with a cool mesh lining, plus a Neoprene collar with padded shoulders for complete comfort on the move.
These good-looking wallets come in two sizes – small and large – and are made from a blend of fine leathers, heavy-duty double-laminate waterproof canvas and real wools, a combination that offers the angler a more traditional alternative to carrying flies compared to modern-day storage boxes.
The last thing you want when you’re travelling is to have your hands full of luggage – one bag full of clothes and the other with fishing gear – so this nifty bit of tackle ticks all the boxes, as there’s room for both, with ease!
A quality set of sunglasses has to be one of a fly angler’s top essentials, as they not only help when it comes to spotting fish but they will also provide a degree of protection from the occasional casting mishap – you only have one pair of eyes, after all.

These Epic shades are a modern design, being made from a magnesium alloy that makes them lightweight and durable. They are fitted with wraparound lenses that not only offer the safety you need, but their constant arc ensures that you get the least amount of surface distortion in whatever direction you look.

On the subject of protection, the 1.9mm hard-coated glass lenses are rated to UV380 and UV400 – perfect for the high sun we get in this country. For maximum comfort the arms are spring-loaded, so they don’t push into your head like some models do but grip perfectly; they don’t slip off, and the nose pads are easily adjustable too.

The glasses come supplied with a light, elasticated lanyard and a padded, protective case.
The Quest rod is one that has gained in popularity due to its hi-tech, exceptional performance characteristics, and all this at a very reasonable price too – it’s an awesome rod, perfect for bank fishing on small and large stillwaters.
Storage seems to be the eternal problem faced by us flyfishers, so imagine what it’s like for those competition boys with their plethora of spare spools and fly lines!
These roomy overtrousers, black with yellow motif, are a great choice for any angler, whether you fish from the boat or the bank.
We’ve highlighted this ‘Deep Water’ line in particular as this is time of year you’re looking to fish those flies a little deeper.
If you’re a boat angler then you need a ‘proper’ net so that you can cope with any eventuality. Let’s face it, you never know when that trout of a lifetime is going to turn up! This Boatman net is a new addition to the remarkable Wychwood range and it has been designed specifically with the boat angler in mind.
Wychwood’s new River & Stream range of products have the look and feel of very bespoke fly fishing tackle and this wonderfully crafted fly wallet is no exception.
